She started nursing in 2012 after graduating with an Accelerated BSN from NC Central University in Durham, North Carolina. She is an experienced Ambulatory and Perianesthesia Care RN, with an endoscopy lab and orthopedics nursing background. She has served as a PACU charge nurse and is a Certified Peri-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) from the ABPANC (American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification). Her experience and knowledge led her to nursing education, preceptoring experienced new hires and nursing students while working to receive her MSN in Nurse Education at UNC Wilmington. Jaime is a highly-motivated, Daisy Faculty Awarded, Master’s prepared nurse with quality, multitasking leadership skills in professional nursing practice. With over 23 years in nursing, she has experience in Women’s Family Birthing Center in Houston, Texas. She had multiple roles throughout her career including management, charge nurse, preceptor, unit educator, and staff nurse. She maintains an Inpatient Obstetrics Certification from National Certification Corporation (NCC). Jaime cared for a patient population in the Labor & Delivery Emergency Department, high-risk obstetrical unit, operating room, PACU, and post-partum and the newborn. After graduating with BSN from Texas Woman’s University, Jaime earned a MSN in Nursing Education from Grand Canyon University. She is currently working towards a terminal degree as a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Education across the lifespan is a passion for Jaime with a focus on assisting her students to achieve their goals. Jaime has taught in an institute of higher education at The University of Texas-Houston Health Sciences Center, Lonestar Community College, and Chamberlain University. Her newest pursuits include education in the Texas Medical Center. She has three homeschooled children and volunteers regularly in the community with Boy Scouts of America. She has had leadership roles in Boy Scouts of America including Scout Master and instructor for Wood Badge.
