Drawing upon material from Community Corrections' Response to Domestic Violence: Guidelines for Practice, this course will define and provide critical information about domestic violence and recommend key strategies that parole officers in Texas can use to help prevent and respond to domestic violence cases.


After taking this course, you should be able to:



  • List four common types of abusive behavior.

  • Identify the goals of community supervision of domestic violence cases.

  • Describe the benefits of batterer intervention programs in domestic violence case supervision.
