They often have special needs that require intervention for them to succeed on supervision and reduce their likelihood to recidivate. This course is designed for community corrections professionals working in adult and juvenile probation and parole agencies. You will learn about some of the factors related to being on community supervision that can have an impact on persons with behavioral health disorders. You also will review some of the common signs of behavioral health disorders. Finally, you will learn some strategies you can use when supervising persons with these types of disorders to help them access the treatment and resources they need to succeed on supervision and facilitate reductions in recidivism.
