Role of Supervisors in Helping Front Line Staff Implement EBPs

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is now the norm in many community corrections agencies across the country. Unfortunately, in the course of implementing EBP, many agencies neglect to fully train and familiarize line staff on the principles and benefits of EBP. Therefore, efficient and effective implementation does not always occur. This course will provide you with information to assist you in helping front-line community corrections staff fully understand the principles and benefits of EBP as implementation is occurring in an agency. In the course, you will be taught how to explain the benefits of EBP to front-line staff through effective training and hands-on experience. You will also be able to effectively transmit that knowledge to field staff so that they will also see the benefit and embrace EBP as the business model for the supervision and treatment of individuals under supervision in the community. The course will use a variety of formats, including interactive exercises, to instruct you on your role in helping front-line staff implement EBP. This course is intended for front-line supervisors working directly with field staff who are supervising probationers and parolees in the community.
